Bill Self was one of the nation's most prominent and rich basketball coaches. Bill Self was born on December 27, 1962, in the city of Okmulgee. Self was the previous head coach for Illinois basketball was appointed as the new head coach of the team on the 9th of June, 2000. The coach who succeeded Self Lon Kruger left Illinois in order to accept a job as the head coach of Atlanta Hawks in the NBA.
