Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 in Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation living in Atlanta, beginning with her great-grandfather who was a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was a young man when he began to take an interest in theater. When he was studying at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. In 1953, he joined the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a play with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, they got married and in 1956 their child Eric Anthony was born. In 1957, the couple quit the Air Force and Walter was enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family relocated in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple by themselves. They also established an organization that lasted for six years called the Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
